The University of Saint Joseph (USJ Macao) participated for the second consecutive year in the UNIMY Graduate Fair held in Manila, Philippines, on November 6, strengthening its commitment to promoting international educational opportunities for postgraduate candidates throughout the ASEAN region. Notably, USJ Macao was the only university representing Macao, China at this year’s event.
This year’s fair attracted a substantial cohort of highly motivated and academically qualified prospective students seeking advanced degree programs abroad. Attendees exhibited well-defined academic objectives and a pronounced ambition to engage in international postgraduate studies, underscoring the increasing demand for globalized educational pathways.
The event featured a variety of activities, including meetings with reserved visitors and a public open fair, where visitors had access to a diverse array of Master’s degree programs and the chance to interact with esteemed universities from around the globe. The use of English as the primary medium of instruction at USJ Macao served as an advantage for Filipino students, effectively lowering the burden of admission criteria.
The USJ delegation was led by the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, accompanied by Teresinha Fok from the International Affairs Office.
Professor Álvaro contributed to a panel discussion titled “Maximizing Opportunities: How Studying Masters Abroad Enhances Global Leadership Skills”. In his sharing, he emphasized the transformative nature of contemporary higher education within an increasingly interconnected global landscape, highlighting that students now seek a comprehensive educational experience that fosters global connectivity and advanced problem-solving skills.

The fair attracted enthusiastic participants eager to engage with university representatives about scholarship opportunities, program specifics, and career trajectories. USJ Macao’s participation reinforced its position as a competitive and innovative choice for international postgraduate education in Asia.

With a robust portfolio of international partnerships and a commitment to student success, USJ Macao continues to attract a diverse and ambitious student body prepared to excel in the global arena. The university remains dedicated to supporting students through merit-based tuition incentives and aligning them with programs that best fulfil their academic and cultural aspirations.
USJ extends its gratitude to the Education Fund of Macao SAR for facilitating its participation in the Education Fair in Manila.
