USJ JOINS THE GUANGDONG-HK-MACAU MARINE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION ALLIANCE
On December 19th, 2018, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and 20 other Higher Education institutions in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, joined the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Marine Science and Technology Innovation Alliance”. Professor Rochelle Ge and Professor David Gonçalves, respectively USJ’s acting Vice-Rector and the Dean of USJ’s Institute of Science and Environment (ISE), attended the Inaugural Meeting, held at the Zhuhai Campus of Sun Yat-sen University. The collaboration is launched with expectations of bolstering research development to advance innovation technology development in the Greater Bay Area.
The Alliance aims at training high-level marine talents of the region to promote sharing of marine resource technology, especially in the following areas of cooperation: marine science and technology, academic exchange, scientific research projects and use of marine scientific and technological advancements.
USJ is organising a new visit to the Zhuhai Campus of Sun Yat-sen University to further discuss the working plan for the development of cooperation opportunities and ideas exchange among the Alliance, in late February.
