On October 18, 2025, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) hosted the “One Day as a University Student” immersive experience at its Ilha Verde campus, inviting 104 Form 4 students from Colégio Mateus Ricci. Through interactive workshops, USJ showcased its unique pedagogical style and holistic education model, offering the secondary school students an immersive introduction to higher education and career pathways.
Event highlights included faculty-designed experiences: School of Education on equity and inclusive education; the Institute of Science and Environment with hands-on experiments; the Faculty of Health Sciences using local cases for social work insights; and the Faculty of Business and Law sparking business and legal thinking.
Students engaged actively, exchanging ideas with professors, embodying USJ’s ethos of “Tradition, Innovation, Vision”. USJ bridges secondary and higher education; this event strengthens local ties and will expand academic opportunities to broaden youth horizons.
