Since becoming partner institutions, USJ and Guangzhou Polytechnic University (GPU) have maintained consistent exchanges and developed numerous research collaborations.
A delegation from the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) recently visited Guangzhou Polytechnic University (GPU). The delegates included Prof. Alessandro Lampo, Head of the Department of Business Studies, Prof. Florence Lei, Coordinator for the Sustainable Business Lab, and Mr. Ben Lei, Head of the Domestic Student Recruitment Office. They were warmly welcomed by the College of Finance and Economics.
The visit featured a meeting along with a tour of the GPU College of Art and Design and the College of Jewellery, which showcased some of the university’s outstanding research contributions and student work.
GPU, previously known as Guangzhou Panyu Polytechnic, was established in 1996. It is recognised as one of the first national demonstration higher vocational colleges, one of China’s top 50 universities for graduate employment experience, and a member of the Guangdong Province First-Class Higher Vocational College Construction Plan.
Since becoming partner institutions, USJ and GPU have maintained consistent exchanges and developed numerous research collaborations. These include GPU’s visit to USJ in May 2021 and April 2023, as well as the USJ Business Club’s visit to GPU, led by Prof. Florence Lei, in December 2023.
Furthermore, Prof. Florence Lei collaborated with Prof. Xinru Wang, Vice-Dean of the College of Finance and Economics, on a research project titled “Economic Integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: An Assessment Study (2021-2023).” Funded by the Higher Education Fund of the Macao SAR Government, this project has led to the publication of multiple journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters. Notable publications include ” 基于价格检验的粤港澳大湾区经济一体化实验研究 [Empirical Study on the Economic Integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Based on Price Assessment] ” in 产业创新研究 and ” Impacts of Central Bank Digital Currency on Regional Economic Integration: Evidence from the Greater Bay Area of China” in The Chinese Economy.
