The USJ Doctoral Forum in Psychology took place on the 11th of February 2025, in the Don Bosco Auditorium of the Ilha Verde Campus.



The USJ Doctoral Forum in Psychology took place on the 11th of February 2025, in the Don Bosco Auditorium of the Ilha Verde Campus.

The Forum was opened by Professor Adérito Fernandes-Marcos, dean of the Doctoral School, and Prof. Jacky Ho, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Then, Prof. Vitor Teixeira presented the Main Research Lines in Psychology pursued by the Faculty of Health Sciences research staff.

Prof. Miguel Farias, from Oxford University, gave the keynote presentation, “From the lab to the jungle: The psychological study of spiritual beliefs and practices across cultures.” The inspiring presentation triggered an open discussion. 

Finally, the doctoral candidate Wong U Wa Kris presented her research topic on “The Relationship between Existential Struggles, Distress, and Deviant Behavior: A Qualitative Study of Emotion and Adaptation of Macau Young Adults”, that also motivated a good Q and A final debate.
