USJ co-organises healthcare course to train frontline health retail professionals

The programme marks Macao’s first professional certificate training course tailored for frontline employees in the health retail sector, and it was jointly organised by USJ Macao, the Macao Chinese Medicine & Comprehensive Health Manufacturing, Supply and Retailers Commercial Association, and MCCY.



The graduation ceremony of the “Intelligent Health – Professional Empowerment” Professional Certificate in Health Management Training programme was held on the 25th July, 2025, at the Senate Room of University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao. This programme was jointly organised by USJ Macao, the Macao Chinese Medicine & Comprehensive Health Manufacturing, Supply and Retailers Commercial Association, and MCCY.

This marks Macao’s first professional certificate training course tailored for frontline employees in the health retail sector. Staff members from MCCY’s core brands successfully completed the program and received their certificates, representing a significant step forward in the professional development of practitioners in health retail industry of Macao.

This professional health management certificate programme has attracted much attention since its launch. The curriculum was designed to address the practical needs of the health retail sector, covering key modules such as product knowledge systems, quality testing standards, artificial intelligence, and health management service protocols. The course aimed at comprehensively enhancing the professional competence and service capabilities of practitioners, and promoting development in a professional direction.

Professor Jacky Ho, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at USJ Macao, stated: “The University of Saint Joseph’s Macao Observatory of Social Development (MOSD) has always focused on the development of China and Macao, aligning with ‘big health’ policies by providing specialised training for Macao-based health enterprises. This project enhanced the knowledge and skills of industry professionals, enabling them to serve and promote health awareness to local and international communities while pioneering a new approach to medical tourism development. From scientific findings to local talent training, we are driving the future development of the nation and Macau.”
