The University of Saint Joseph and the International Institute of Macau welcomed a delegation from Portuguese-speaking countries, including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tomé and Príncipe, for a conference focused on blue economy and sustainable tourism.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the International Institute of Macau (IIM) welcomed a delegation from Portuguese-speaking countries, including Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, and São Tomé and Príncipe, for a conference focused on blue economy and sustainable tourism. Held at the IIM auditorium on 9 June, the event primarily engaged representatives from the fishing and aquaculture sectors.
The conference, part of the Colloquium on Cooperation in the Blue Economy between China and Portuguese-Speaking Countries of the Forum Macao, was organised by USJ’s Office of Executive Training and Lifelong Learning, led by Prof. Emil Marques. The programme featured a presentation titled “Sustainable Tourism and Law: A Comparative Analysis of Mozambique and Macao” by Prof. Ângelo Rafael, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Business and Law of USJ. Two professors from the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) also contributed to the discussions.
In addition to the conference, a cultural exchange session was organised by the Secretary General of IIM, António Monteiro, in which current developments in the Macao SAR were presented in the context of its role as a strategic platform for cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Participants were also provided with publications on Macao’s contributions to regional collaboration in the context of the Greater Bay Area.

USJ e IIM organizam conferência sobre economia azul e turismo sustentável com delegação dos países de língua portuguesa
A Universidade de São José (USJ) e o Instituto Internacional de Macau (IIM) receberam uma comitiva com representantes dos países de língua portuguesa, nomeadamente Angola, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Guiné-Bissau, Guiné Equatorial, Moçambique, Portugal e São Tomé e Príncipe, para uma conferência sobre economia azul e turismo sustentável. Realizado no dia 9 de Junho no auditório do IIM, o evento envolveu principalmente representantes dos sectores da pesca e da aquicultura.
A conferência, inserida no Colóquio sobre Cooperação na Economia Azul entre a China e os Países de Língua Portuguesa do Fórum de Macau, foi organizada pelo Gabinete de Formação de Executivos e Aprendizagem ao Longo da Vida da USJ, liderado pelo Prof. Emil Marques. O programa contou com uma apresentação intitulada “Turismo Sustentável e Direito: Uma Análise Comparativa de Moçambique e Macau” pelo Prof. Ângelo Rafael, Professor Auxiliar da Faculdade de Ciências Económicas e Empresariais da USJ. Dois professores da Universidade de Ciência e Tecnologia de Macau (MUST) também contribuíram para os debates.
Para além da conferência, foi organizada uma sessão de intercâmbio cultural pelo Secretário-Geral do IIM, António Monteiro, na qual foram apresentados os desenvolvimentos actuais da RAEM no âmbito do seu papel como plataforma estratégica para a cooperação entre a China e os países de língua portuguesa. Os participantes receberam publicações sobre as contribuições de Macau para a colaboração regional no contexto da Área da Grande Baía.
