Spectacular Chinese New Year Float Parade in Northern District Kicked-off at USJ Macao

The University of Saint Joseph Macao supports vibrant float parade, a part of the “Celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR – Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Dragon 2024”, boosting community celebrations on the 8th day of the Chinese New Year.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao proudly supported the spectacular float parade held in the Northern District of Macao on the 8th day of the Chinese New Year. This vibrant event, a part of the “Celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR – Parade for Celebration of the Year of the Dragon 2024,” captivated residents and visitors alike, creating a joyous atmosphere.

The float parade, consisting of 15 visually stunning floats, spread blessings and good wishes throughout the Northern District. USJ supported this event organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Municipal Affairs Bureau, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, Cultural Affairs Bureau, Sports Bureau, Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, Asia Tourism Exchange Center, and renowned entertainment and hospitality groups such as MGM, Wynn Macau Limited, Galaxy Entertainment Group, SJM Resorts, S.A., Sands China Ltd., Melco Resorts & Entertainment Limited, Multinational (Holdings) Group, and Chimelong Group.

The parade kicked off with a spectacular lion dance performance at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus. The procession then traversed through the streets, engaging the enthusiastic spectators who cheered along the way. The parade culminated at Iao Hon Market Garden, where an artistic and cultural show was presented. Renowned artists including Selena Lee, Carman Kwan, Germano Guilherme, Rico Long, and Viviana Lo delivered performances, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion.

The University of Saint Joseph Macao, as a supporting entity, played a vital role in promoting community tourism development throughout the Chinese New Year celebrations. The University actively collaborated with the co-organisers to ensure the success of the float parade. By extending its support, the USJ aimed to contribute to the vibrant and inclusive cultural landscape of Macao, fostering community engagement and enhancing the overall experience for residents and visitors alike.
