Hon Kit I, a finalist student of the Bachelor of Architectural Studies, and Lin Zhihang, an architecture graduate, received Honorable Mention in “Lai Chi Vu Shipyards – Plots X11 to X15” Design Competition organised by the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau.
The Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) launched on June 2023 the “Lai Chi Vun Shipyards – Plots X11 to X15 Design Proposal for Public Art Installations and Public Facilities”.
The competition was coordinated by the Architects Association of Macau (AAM) with the support of Galaxy Entertainment and intended to get the participation of Macao’s younger generations of architects and value their creative ideas.
The goal was to design a proposal for public art installations and public facilities that reflected the landscaping features of the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards area and emphasize the educational and cultural meaning of Macao’s Shipyards industry.
The award ceremony took place on 28 October 2023, during the “Cultural Heritage Protection Law” promotion event, at St. Lazarus Church District. Lin Zhihang, an architecture graduate of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), and Hon Kit I, a finalist student of the Bachelor of Architectural Studies at USJ, together won the Honourable Mention for their proposal.
