The Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education (DLCRE) at the University of Saint Joseph recently invited Professor LEE Tan from the Department of Electronic Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Dr. Herman NG Si-Ioi, Postdoctoral Researcher at Arizona State University, for an exchange and future collaborations on the e-development of Cantonese teaching materials for the Chinese Literacy Education and Research (CLEAR) Project.
Dr. Miranda Mak, Director of DLCRE and Principal Investigator of the CLEAR Project, stated that the CLEAR project has successfully transformed research findings into impactful products and services for the local education sector, with broad applications in the development of teaching materials and children’s books. At this stage, the team aims to further develop electronic tools and materials that meet contemporary educational needs, continuously promoting the innovation and practical application of research outcomes.
The non-profit CLEAR project supports early childhood Chinese literacy development. Since 2016, the project has empowered educators and families with research-based resources and published a range of teaching materials.
