Brazilian Carnival in Macao Brought Music, Joy, and Vibrant Colors

Co-organised by the Leitorado Guimarães Rosa/University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Phoenix Music and Arts Services, Language and Culture Exchange (LECPA), and The Roadhouse Macau, the Brazilian Carnival in Macao brought music, dance, costumes, colors, and plenty of sparkle.
On the 1st of March, 2025, Macao became the stage for a vibrant celebration: the Brazilian Carnival in Macao. The event promised an exciting experience for the local community and delivered on its promise by showcasing the cultural richness, contagious joy, and spirit of unity that characterised one of the world’s most celebrated festivals.
Co-organised by the Leitorado Guimarães Rosa/University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Phoenix Music and Arts Services, Language and Culture Exchange (LECPA), and The Roadhouse Macau, the Brazilian Carnival in Macao brought music, dance, costumes, colors, and plenty of sparkle. The event also enjoyed institutional support from the Consulate General of Brazil in Hong Kong and Macau, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at USJ, the International Students Association of the University of Macau, and the significant contribution of Broadway Macau, highlighting the importance of collaboration among institutions to promote culture and social integration.
More than just a party, the Brazilian Carnival in Macao was an inclusive celebration, open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and cultures. The goal was to go beyond the traditional images of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival, showcasing the diversity and richness of this festival that captivates the world. The event invited the whole family to have fun, celebrate, and experience the joy that only Carnival can provide, strengthening cultural ties and creating a memorable experience for all participants.
The Leitorado Guimarães Rosa/USJ is proud to have been part of this initiative, which reinforces the university’s commitment to promoting cultural diversity.

Carnaval Brasileiro em Macau trouxe música, alegria e muitas cores
No dia 1 de março de 2025, Macau foi palco de uma celebração vibrante: o Carnaval Brasileiro em Macau. O evento prometia uma experiência emocionante para a comunidade local e cumpriu seu objetivo ao apresentar a riqueza cultural, a alegria contagiante e o espírito de união que caracterizam um dos festivais mais celebrados do mundo.
Organizado pelo Leitorado Guimarães Rosa/Universidade de São José (USJ), Phoenix Music and Arts Services, Language and Culture Exchange (LECPA) e The Roadhouse Macau, o Carnaval Brasileiro em Macau trouxe música, dança, fantasias, cores e muito brilho. O evento contou ainda com o apoio institucional do Consulado-Geral do Brasil em Hong Kong e Macau, da Faculdade de Artes e Humanidades da USJ, da Associação de Estudantes Internacionais (ISA) da Universidade de Macau, além importante contribuição da Brodway Macau, destacando a importância da colaboração entre instituições para promover a cultura e a integração social.
Mais do que uma festa, o Carnaval Brasileiro em Macau foi uma celebração inclusiva, aberta a pessoas de todas as idades, origens e culturas. A proposta foi ir além das imagens tradicionais do Carnaval do Rio de Janeiro, mostrando a diversidade e a riqueza dessa festa que encanta o mundo. O evento convidou toda a família a se divertir, celebrar e vivenciar a alegria que só o Carnaval pode proporcionar, fortalecendo os laços culturais e proporcionando uma experiência memorável para todos os participantes. O Leitorado Guimarães Rosa/USJ orgulha-se de ter feito parte dessa iniciativa, que reforça o compromisso da universidade com a promoção da diversidade cultural.
