The exhibition “Treasure of Ancient Books – Exhibition of Chen Zibao and Macau Civilian Education” will be held at the Kent Wong Exhibition Gallery at USJ Ilha Verde Campus, from October 24 to November 18, 2023.

Exhibition introduction:

Last year marked the 100th anniversary of the death of the famous civilian educator Chen Zibao. To commemorate his outstanding contributions to modern education, especially in promoting women’s and children’s education, education system reform, and the Vernacular Language Movement, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the Macao Institute of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Relics (MICRCR) are organising a special exhibition titled “Treasure of Ancient Books – Exhibition of Chen Zibao and Macau Civilian Education“.

The exhibition will be held at the Kent Wong Exhibition Gallery at USJ Ilha Verde Campus, from October 24 to November 18, 2023.

In addition, this exhibition is accompanied by two public lectures and a traditional printing workshop. The topics of the lectures are “Chen Zibao and Civilian Education under the Background of the Times” and “Chen Zibao’s Word Teaching Methods and Practices“.
