This prestigious event, hosted by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), focused on the theme “Shaping FutureScape: A Vision of Technology and Design for a Sustainable Future.” It brought together thought leaders, academics, and practitioners to explore integrating sustainable practices into technology and design. USJ’s delegation played pivotal roles across various sessions, showcasing their expertise and long-standing commitment to the UEH Vietnam Partnership.
Opening Ceremony
The participating members, and key highlights with USJ included:
Special Session Panellist & Speaker: Prof. Filipa Martins spoke at the FutureScape Creative Technology: Art, Media and Immersive Experiences in a special session on July 15th, presenting the talk “Augmented Infrastructure: Designing Sustainable Immersive Experiences for Cultural Memory.”
PhD Student Presentation: On July 16th, Eve Chan Kai, a USJ PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Sena Caires, presented a research paper titled “Interaction Design for Intelligent Vehicle Center Consoles to Accommodate Colour Vision Deficiency.”
Journal of Technology and Design (JTD) Launch: Highlighting USJ’s deep academic integration with UEH, Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Prof. Alexandre Lobo, and Prof. Adérito Fernandes Marcos were announced as members of the Editorial team for UEH’s newly launched academic journal – more information here.
