The School of Education (SED) organised two specialised workshops on the “Overview of Education in Macao” delivered by Mr. Nicholas Man Hong Mok, Functional Head of the Division of Curriculum Development and Assessment, Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ). The workshops were held on 28 April for the Bachelor of Education students, and on 13 May for Postgraduate Diploma in Education students, moderated by Prof. Jana Ho, Programme Coordinator of Bachelor of Education, and Prof. Iris Mak, Programme Coordinator for the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, respectively.
In his engaging presentations, Mr. Mok provided a comprehensive overview of Macao’s education system, covering both tertiary and non-tertiary sectors. Key highlights included the SAR Government’s strategic plans, under the themes “Advancing Macao through Education” and “Building Macao with Talent.”

Participants gained valuable insights into the structure of higher education institutions, education policies and teacher professional development frameworks. The sessions fostered meaningful dialogue between future educators and a key policymaker, helping students better understand the local educational landscape, current developments, and future directions.
The School of Education extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Nicholas Man Hong Mok for sharing his expertise. The workshops reinforced SED’s commitment to bridging theory and practice while preparing our students to become informed and impactful educators in Macao.
