The University of Saint Joseph (USJ), together with the Macau Guizhou General Association, recently visited Guizhou Normal University to discuss admissions cooperation.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ), together with the Macau Guizhou General Association, recently visited Guizhou Normal University. The two parties held discussions and reached an important consensus on establishing a sister-school relationship and admissions cooperation, marking a new milestone in higher education collaboration between Guizhou and Macau.

The delegation visited Guizhou Normal University in the afternoon on the 16th of April 2026.  The visit began with a tour of the university’s Provincial Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Brain-like Computing, where they learned about the institution’s research achievements and development directions in the field of artificial intelligence. Subsequently, both parties held a forum, chaired by Zhao Shouying, Committee member and Vice President of Guizhou Education University.

The Macau-Guizhou delegation included Ao Pak Loi, Standing Committee Member of the Guizhou Provincial CPPCC, President of the Macau Guizhou Association Federation; Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice-Rector of USJ; and David Yang, Assistant Head of the Domestic Student Recruitment Office of USJ, as well as Kong Xianglong, Director of the UFWD of Guizhou province.

Representing Guizhou Normal University at the meeting were Zhan Yong, Committee Chairman; Zhao Shouying,Committee member and Vice President of Guizhou Education University; and Zhang Ting, Committee member, Director of the UFWD and Dean of the School of Continuing Education.

During the meeting, the two parties reached preliminary consensus on establishing a sister-school relationship and admissions cooperation, paving the way for broader learning and development opportunities for students of both institutions.

This visit marks a significant step forward in the collaboration between USJ and higher education institutions in Guizhou. USJ will continue to leverage Macao’s role as a China-Portuguese-speaking countries platform and an international education hub, deepening its engagement with mainland institutions to jointly nurture professionals with global perspectives.

This cooperation signifies the expansion of USJ’s partner network with mainland institutions while putting into practice the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
