Since 2023, USJ Macao has been committed to participating in FUTURÁLIA, setting up an independent booth for three consecutive years.

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao joined the Macau delegation to participated in a students’ session at the Cacilhas-Tejo Secondary School on 10 March, and at the FUTURÁLIA Education Fair held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 11 to 14 March.

Since 2023, USJ Macao has been committed to participating in FUTURÁLIA, setting up an independent booth for three consecutive years. Starting last year, USJ joined the consortium booth organised by the Education Youth and Development Bureau (DSEDJ), alongside other higher education institutions from the Macao SAR.

The FUTURÁLIA Education Fair attracted a vibrant crowd, including pre-university and junior students eager to explore higher education opportunities, both locally and abroad. Groups of ninth-grade students, accompanied by professors and counsellors, sought guidance to inform their specialisation choices prior to entering grade ten. Eleventh- and twelfth-graders expressed interest in pursuing their academic careers in Macao.

There has also been a growing interest among students completing their bachelor’s degrees, as well as among recent graduates, in pursuing advanced studies in Macao.

Leading the USJ delegation was Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, accompanied by Mr Francisco Peixoto, Senior Manager of the International Affairs Office.

Overall, USJ’s participation in the delegation helped to strengthen the network of cooperation between higher education institutions in Macao and Portugal.

USJ expresses gratitude to the Education Youth and Development Bureau (DSEDJ) for the opportunity to represent one of Macao SAR’s leading institutions at the FUTURÁLIA Education Fair and during all promotional activities, as well as to the Cacilhas-Tejo Secondary School community, represented by the school’s principal, Dra. Maria Guilhermina Rodrigues.
