Dean of IDEAS Prof. George Du Wencai was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the “2025 AI Empowerment · Industry-Education Integration – Intelligent Industry and Education Innovation Development Seminar”.



The “2025 AI Empowerment · Industry-Education Integration – Intelligent Industry and Education Innovation Development Seminar” organized by the Guangdong Private Education Association was held at Dongguan City University on the 27th December 2025.

The symposium, themed “Deep Integration of Industry and Education, Intelligent Innovation for the Future: Building a Collaborative Innovation Ecosystem for AI+ Talent Cultivation“, brings together the wisdom from members across government, universities, and enterprises to jointly explore a new chapter of high-quality development of the intelligent industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). More than 110 leaders from over 50 municipal-related units, experts, scholars and enterprise representatives attended the event.

Professor George Du Wencai, Dean of the Institute for Data Engineering and Science (IDEAS) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao, delivered a keynote speech titled Digital Empowerment for Cognitive Health in Old Age: In the “Intelligent Intervention Framework Integrated with BioFeedback, in response to the pain points faced by elderly mental health services such as subjective diagnosis and single intervention, a closed-loop system design integrating meditation, cognitive training and wearable technology is proposed. Through biofeedback, meditation and cognitive training are deeply coupled into the intelligent intervention framework, enabling the elderly to transform from passive health recipients to active self-regulators. It has pioneered a new paradigm of data-driven and highly personalized cognitive health intervention for the elderly.
