The “Macao Youth Startup Community Living Room” in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone (Hengqin) was officially inaugurated on July 22.

The “Macao Youth Startup Community Living Room” in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone (Hengqin) was officially inaugurated on July 22. Operated by the Guangdong Office of the Chinese Youth Advancement Association (Macao, China), the initiative adopts a “government + community + society” model to build an all-round service platform focused on supporting Macao youth entrepreneurship. Its core goals include facilitating Macao youth integration into the Cooperation Zone, boosting the region’s appeal, and fostering cross-border exchanges and development between young people in Macao and Hengqin.

Mr. Erik Kok, representing the Macao Observatory for Social Development at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), attended the launch ceremony and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Guangdong Office. Under the partnership, both parties aim to establish a dedicated service base within the “Living Room” to strengthen university-industry collaboration and interaction. This collaboration is expected to deliver tangible support across multiple dimensions of Macao youth development, empowering their growth and entrepreneurial endeavors.

The agreement underscores USJ’s commitment to bridging educational resources and real-world opportunities, furthering the integration of Macao’s youth into the Greater Bay Area’s dynamic ecosystem.
