This collaboration focuses on recruiting students from Vietnam for USJ’s undergraduate and graduate programmes, while also fostering student mobility, cultural exchange, and academic cooperation.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Center for International Education Development (CIED) in Hanoi, Vietnam, expanding its global network and advancing its internationalisation strategy.
The signing ceremony took place on 12 August 2025 at the Center for International Education Development (CIED) office in Hanoi, where Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, USJ’s Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, and Mr. Binh Phan, Deputy Director of CIED, formally signed the agreement. Also in attendance were Ms. Tram Bui, International Partnership Manager, and Mr. Paulo Albuquerque from USJ’s International Affairs Office.
CIED is the sole official organisation established by Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) dedicated to promoting international education opportunities for Vietnamese students. This collaboration focuses on recruiting students for USJ’s undergraduate and graduate programmes, while also fostering student mobility, cultural exchange, and academic cooperation.
Both institutions aim to expand their collaboration to include initiatives such as the validation of official academic documents of Vietnamese students, as well as other joint efforts designed to strengthen educational access, promote international engagement, and enhance overall academic quality.
With this agreement, USJ looks forward to welcome more Vietnamese students into its vibrant academic community and to cultivate a strong partnership with CIED in the years to come.
