USJ Scholar Won Paper Award of International Forum on Drug Policy

This year’s Forum also received over 300 submissions from scholars in more than 50 countries around the world.
The 4th International Forum on Drug Policy, organised by Shanghai University and supported by the China Narcotics Control Foundation (CNCF), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Centre for Drug Policy Studies (ICDNPS), was held in Pudong, Shanghai, from 9-10 July 2025, with the theme of ‘Coexisted in Harmony: New Strategies, New Technologies, and New Measures in Global Drug Governance’. The Forum attracted more than 350 experts and scholars from the UN organisation, government departments, research institutes and universities.
As an important outcome of the International Forum on Drug Policy, the Blue Book of International Drug Control (2024) was officially released at the opening ceremony. The Blue Book, developed by the Shanghai University, is the only annual series of research reports focusing on the global drug problem, tracking anti-drug dynamics and serving national anti-drug strategies in China.
This year’s Forum also received over 300 submissions from scholars in more than 50 countries around the world. After the preliminary, intermediate and final judging stages, 24 ‘Outstanding Paper Awards of the International Forum on Drug Policy’ were selected after the preliminary, intermediate and final judging. The paper, led by Shengsheng Lai and co-researched by Prof. Tak Lee, submitted by Prof. Stella O, Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Health Sciences at USJ,, won the Second Prize and was highly evaluated and recognised by the judges.
In addition, the organiser invited participants to conduct field visits to further demonstrate Shanghai’s work achievements in drug rehabilitation and drug prevention education.
