Representing the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao, Associate Professor Rochelle Ge from the School of Education (SED) recently concluded a productive four-day visit to San Beda College in Manila, Philippines, which resulted in an official signing of the new agreement between San Beda College Alabang and USJ Macao.
The signing ceremony, attended by members of San Beda’s academic and administrative staff, began with an introduction to the college’s history and development by its Rector, Fr. Ricardo Ma. P. De Villa. Dr. Rica D. Ancheta then presented the framework of the agreement, outlining the intended areas of collaboration.
Following the formal signing and a photo session, the two institutions exchanged tokens of friendship, with Rector De Villa presenting a ceremonial plate to commemorate the growing partnership.
The day continued with a campus tour, during which the delegation visited San Beda’s university museum, library, and several academic units, gaining valuable insights into the institution’s academic environment. The evening concluded with a dinner gathering, fostering further dialogue and camaraderie between the partners.

During her visit, Prof. Ge also participated in a conference entitled “Ethical Leadership in Education: Navigating Challenges and Shaping Strategic Solutions.” The event brought together lecturers and staff from eight tertiary institutions and featured two international keynote speakers alongside parallel sessions for poster and paper presentations, providing a valuable platform for scholarly exchange.
The final day of the visit was dedicated to cultural immersion. The delegation toured the historic walled city of Intramuros, exploring the rich heritage of Philippine history. This was followed by a visit to the vibrant Chinatown district, where they experienced the deep-rooted heritage of China-Philippines relations.
The visit to Manila created new opportunities for academic and cultural exchange with San Beda College Alabang.
