USJ Macao hosted a special session focused on understanding the spirit and key outcomes of the recent third sessions of the 14th NPC and the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, often referred to as the “Two Sessions”.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao hosted a special session focused on understanding the spirit and key outcomes of the recent third sessions of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) and the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), often referred to as the “Two Sessions”. The event took place on 6 May 2025 at the Fátima Auditorium in the USJ Ilha Verde Campus.

The session aimed to clarify the significance and implications of the “Two Sessions”, highlighting the latest developments in the educational, economical and social landscape of China. Attendees included students, faculty, and administrative staff, all gaining a deeper understanding of these important national events.

Keynote speaker Dr. Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and Rector of Macao University of Tourism, highlighted key focus areas particularly relevant to the advancement and future direction of higher education in Macao.


About Dr. Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan

Dr. Fanny Vong Chuk Kwan, completed her PhD at ISCTE, in Portugal. She is now serving as the Rector of the Macao University of Tourism. Dr. Vong has engaged in various tourism research and training projects with local and international organisations, including UNESCAP, UNESCO, and UNWTO, and is a member of several Macao SAR Government committees focused on tourism development and higher education. As a current member of the CPPCC National Committee, representing the education section, Dr. Vong is uniquely positioned to share valuable perspectives gleaned directly from these significant national gatherings.
