Mentors and Mentees Reflect on Growth and Strengthen Bonds at the Closing Gathering.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) celebrated the conclusion of the USJ Mentorship Programme 24/25 with an appreciation dinner held at the Student Lounge in the Ilha Verde Campus on 24 April 2025. The event brought together mentors and mentees from five groups in different fields, namely Business Administration, Architecture, Education, Social Work & Psychology, and Design. The 16 participants reflected on their journey and honored their achievements.
The event began with a meaningful sharing session facilitated by the staff from the Office for Student and Alumni Affairs (OSAA). Using “Points of You” cards as a reflective tool, each participant selected two cards to describe themselves and another to express their feelings about the programme respectively. The mentors openly shared their thoughts and experiences, while the mentees expressed heartfelt gratitude for the guidance and support they received. This session created a warm and inspiring atmosphere, marking a fitting conclusion to the mentorship journey.
Following the sharing, Ms. Jenny Lam, Head of OSAA, presented certificates of appreciation to the mentors in recognition of their dedication and commitment. The mentees also received certificates of completion, celebrating their active participation and growth throughout the programme. This year, each group demonstrated strong bonds between mentors and mentees, highlighting the programme’s objective in fostering meaningful connections.
The remainder of the evening was filled with lively conversations and networking as participants enjoyed dinner together. The event was sponsored by the Macao Foundation, whose support continues to strengthen USJ’s commitment to career development and mentorship.
USJ extends its deepest gratitude to all mentors, including Alan Yung, Nuno Veríssimo, Irene Moreira, Ivy Ieong Si Ut, and Katherine Chan Ka I, and mentees who contributed to another year of mentorship and growth.
