To leverage the geographical advantages between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asian countries, an initiative led by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), among others, has been proposed.

In collaboration with multiple high-end think tanks from the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area–Southeast Asia Think Tank Cooperation Alliance has been jointly established. This multilateral exchange and cooperation platform aims to establish dialogue mechanisms, conducting joint research, promoting academic exchanges and deepening cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

This Cooperation Alliance aims to strengthen people-to-people connectivity and leverage think tank synergies for shared development. The alliance’s founding members include 22 universities and leading think tanks from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

As one of the alliance’s founding members, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao will leverage its strengths in international education and interdisciplinary research, while capitalizing on Macao’s unique role as a bridge between China and Portuguese-speaking countries. Through collaboration, the university will contribute to regional knowledge sharing, enhance connectivity between the Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asian nations, and offer intellectual and academic value. This initiative serves as a platform for mutual learning, shared development, and cooperative progress.
