Social work Year 4 students, led by Prof. Ning Tang, attended the 4th World Philanthropy Forum at the City University of Macao.



On 21 November  2019, Year 4 students from the University’s Department of Social Work, led by Professor Ning Tang, attended the 4th World Philanthropy Forum, co-organised by City University of Macau, Department of Innovative Social Work; Institute for Philanthropy Tsinghua University; The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Department of Social Work; and the Tunghai University Department of Social Work. The theme for this forum was “Innovative Social Work Education and the Future Social Service Ecosystem Development”. The forum invited social work educators, researchers and experts from the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China and Macau to share their knowledge and experiences on the area of social work education and registration system. Students were able to get a glimpse into the development of social work profession in different regions. They also learned more about the newly passed law on the accreditation and licensure of social work profession through the talk provided by Mr. Leung, the Director of Professional Development and Planning Division of Social Welfare Bureau. Professor Tang was invited as a moderator for one session. She shared her past experiences as a social work student and her understanding of the professionalism of social work.
