The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Macao and the University of Madeira (UMa) in Portugal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 22 December 2025.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Macao and the University of Madeira (UMa) in Portugal have taken a significant step toward strengthening academic and research collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). On 22 December 2025, Prof. Carlos Sena Caires, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at USJ, visited UMa for the official signing ceremony.

The MOU was signed in the presence of Prof. José Sílvio Moreira Fernandes, Rector of the University of Madeira, and Prof. José Câmara, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Internationalization. This agreement marks the beginning of a fruitful partnership aimed at enhancing cooperation in several key areas including student and faculty exchange, joint research projects, co-supervision of doctoral theses; and other academic collaborations.
