USJ brought over 1,000 Jobs posts from Over 30 Enterprises and Organisations at USJ Career Fair 2026.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) organised the USJ Career Fair 2026 on the 26th of March. The annual USJ Career Fair has been serving as a platform for all USJ students and alumni to seek job opportunities and explore their career paths.
The Opening Ceremony of the USJ Career Fair 2026 was held at 11:30 at the USJ Fátima Auditorium. The event is sponsored by the Macau Foundation and supported by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, Division of Technology & Talent Development of the Economic Development Bureau of Hengqin. Guests in attendance included Mr. Chan Iok Wai, Acting Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Development Bureau; Mr. Chan Ka In, Acting Head of Employment Department of the Labour Affairs Bureau; Ms. Brooke Ju, Deputy Chief of the Division of Technology & Talent Development of the Economic Development Bureau of Hengqin; Ms. Jacinta Ho, Chairperson of the Greater Bay Area Human Resources Association; Mr. Zhang Xiangli, Employment Project Supervisor of Guangdong Human Resource Management Association; Prof. Alexandre Lobo and Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice Rectors of the University of Saint Joseph, as well as representatives from the companies/organizations and the university.

In her opening speech, Dr. Teresa Loong expressed sincere gratitude to the Education and Youth Development Bureau, as a supporting organization, for jointly setting up a booth with the Labour Affairs Bureau for the first time. The booth introduces the “Plano de Financiamento para Carreiras Profissionais dos Jovens de Macau na Grande Baía (澳門青年大灣區職業之路資助計劃)”to our local students, encouraging Macao youth to pursue development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
She pointed out that the country is now embarking on a new chapter under the 15th Five-Year Plan which explicitly sets out a framework for the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent. The Plan clearly emphasises strengthening talent cultivation, promoting deep integration between education and industry, and focusing on nurturing high-quality talents with innovation capabilities and an international perspective. Simultaneously, the Macau SAR government is actively encouraging higher education institutions to leverage their unique strengths, integrate into and serve the overall national development strategy, whilst actively building a hub for attracting top-tier international talent.
As an international university in Macao, USJ continues to optimize its academic programmes, strengthen curriculum development in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, and is committed to cultivating innovative talents who meet national strategic needs. Upon graduation, students not only possess academic rigour and the ability to think critically and solve complex problems, but they also master solid professional knowledge in their disciplines, laying a strong foundation for their professional development.
Dr. Loong emphasised that USJ brings together students and faculty from over 50 countries and regions, fostering a global learning perspective. According to the survey responses collected from the 2024/2025 graduating cohort of our undergraduates, the employment and further studies rate (within 3 months of graduation) reached 95.8%, with the employment rate at 83.3% and the further studies rate at 12.5%, respectively. Graduates are mostly engaged in the fields of social services, media and communication, and tourism and leisure. This is not only the result of the students’ hard work, but it also reflects the strong support from various sectors that align with USJ’s educational philosophy.

At the opening ceremony, the university presented certificates of appreciation to the participating exhibitors as a token of thanks to their support. This year, the Career Fair featured a total of 34 participating companies and organizations, including five enterprises from Hengqin as well as the Guangdong Human Resource Management Association. The Association provided job positions from its member units and partner organizations on the day of the event. In total, the participating institutions offered over one thousand job vacancies in the areas of banking and finance, e-commerce, education and training, hospitality, human resources, retail, transportation, public service, and social service.

At the career fair, students can look for their desired job opportunities and submit their resumes directly at the on-site booths. Additionally, they can engage in face-to-face conversations with employers to learn more about the latest updates from organizations, including details on job vacancies and relevant employment trends. To help students prepare more thoroughly for the career fair, USJ also collaborates with the Labour Affairs Bureau to host a career talk “Introduction to Youth Employment Services and Programs” on the 12th of March. The session covered employment promotion measures, the 2026 employment promotion schedule, the current job market situation, introductions to specialized employment schemes for talent demand, and youth employment support services. On the 18th of March, the career workshop ”Elevate Your Interview Presence”was held. The tutor explained the importance of first impressions, professional workplace attire guidelines, and essential business etiquette, providing practical knowledge to help students present their best selves during interviews.
