The SCOPUS-indexed bilingual open-access E.REI – E.Journal of Intercultural Studies, published by the Centre for Intercultural Studies at the Polytechnic University of Porto, invites submissions for its 2026 Special Issue “Intercultural Dialogues in a Post-Digital World, 1 – USJ, Macao/China”, to be edited in collaboration with the Doctoral School of the University of Saint Joseph, Macao/China.

In an era characterised by post-digital transformation, global interconnectedness, and algorithmic mediation, this Special Issue – to be launched in the Summer of 2025 – fosters critical and creative engagement with the challenges and opportunities of contemporary transdisciplinary research. Within the complex framework of ongoing global challenges – from digital governance and cultural pluralism to educational reform and algorithmic ethics – this Special Issue intends to establish an interdisciplinary dialogue that explores how interculturality, digital mediation and systemic thinking transform academic research and societal practices.

Therefore, this Special Issue welcomes contributions that explore the changing relationships between tradition and technology, identity and information, governance and creativity, under an intercultural and interdisciplinary perspective, within – but not limited to – the following areas:

  • Global and Intercultural Studies – Intercultural dialogue and conflict resolution; migration, diaspora and transnational identities; global ethics and cultural sustainability.
  • Religious and Philosophical Studies – Religion and digital mediation; Interfaith communication in global contexts; Spirituality and algorithmic culture.
  • Education and Pedagogy – Post-digital education and hybrid learning; Intercultural curriculum design; AI in educational policy and practice.
  • Management, Economics and Public Administration – Ethical governance and algorithmic decision-making; Digital transformation in public services; Intercultural leadership and organisational culture.
  • Communication, Arts and Media – Generative arts and algorithmic authorship; Transmedia storytelling and cultural memory; Post-digital aesthetics and creative agency.
  • Information Systems and Digital Cultures – Algorithmisation and epistemic change; AI and intercultural data ethics; Systems thinking in transdisciplinary research.

Complete, fully revised contributions should be sent by email only, until 22 February 2026, to cei@iscap.ipp.pt and doc.eds@usj.edu.mo, strictly according to the Submission Guidelines of E.REI – E.Journal of Intercultural Studies.

We look forward to receiving your contributions and engaging in a vibrant exchange of ideas across borders and disciplines.
