As part of the WorldLab module, Prof. Florence Lei led the Year 4 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) class on a visit to the Centro Ambiental Alegria in the Ilha Verde neighborhood.
As part of the WorldLab module, Prof. Florence Lei, Coordinator for the Sustainable Business Lab from the Faculty of Business and Law, led the Year 4 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) class on a visit to the Centro Ambiental Alegria 環保加Fun站 in the Ilha Verde neighborhood. This visit included an interactive workshop organised in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Bureau and Caritas.
During the WorldLab lecture, Prof. Lei discussed the significance of environmental sustainability as one of the foremost global challenges. The field trip enriched students’ understanding of local environmental protection practices and provided valuable experiential learning opportunities. Students gained insights into Macao’s environmental initiatives and enhanced their awareness of recycling and sustainable living.


The workshop featured an introduction to recyclables and clean recycling methods, encouraging students to follow the Environmental Protection Bureau’s official WeChat account for further engagement.


Participants brought various recyclables, including paper, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and used clothing, to enhance the interactive experience. Additionally, students were invited to join the Centro Ambiental Alegria reward programme, promoting further involvement in sustainable practices.



The visit culminated in a workshop focused on upcycling coffee powder waste, an innovative approaches to sustainability and waste management.
