The “2025 International Symposium on Children and Youth Health and Well-Being” was jointly organised by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in Macao, and Rutgers University in United States.
The “2025 International Symposium on Children and Youth Health and Well-Being” jointly organised by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao, and Rutgers University, took place at Baiyun Campus of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou, China, from 13 to 14 December. Approximately 260 professionals and students attended the event.
Last year the 2nd symposium was held at the USJ Macao. The opening ceremony took place on the first day afternoon, featuring keynote speeches by four speakers on topics including children and youth development, mental health, artificial intelligence, and social work.
The second day featured six parallel forums with over 100 domestic and international participants from China, the United States, Canada, Thailand, and other regions. These attendees presented and received feedback on their submissions, with the conference collecting a total of 75 papers. The organiser also arranged workshop and field visit for participants to gain deeper insights into the current development of local youth services.

During the closing ceremony, Prof. Jacky Ho, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at USJ Macao, announced that next year’s conference will be hosted by Saint Louis College in Thailand. Prof. Tu Bin, Dean of the School of Public Administration at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, handed over the flag of symposium to the next host representative, continuing the spirit of ‘Going Out’ for this international symposium.
