The public lecture “The Importance of Art in Human Life and the Evangelization of Culture” by Fr Rodrigo Miranda, IVE., will be held on Monday, 3 November 2025, from 8pm to 9pm at the Igreja de S. Lourenço (St Lawrence Church).



ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Fr Rodrigo Miranda, IVE

Father Rodrigo Miranda is a priest and missionary of the Institute of the Incarnate Word. Artist and researcher specialized in Painting, Engraving, and Sculpture, trained at the Academy of Fine Arts of Chile, where he served as assistant professor of Artistic Anatomy.

He studied Church Cultural Heritage at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and earned a Master’s degree in Exegesis and the History of Sacred Art and Image. His research has focused on key artists, periods, and ideas in the history and philosophy of art, conducted in institutions such as the Prado Museum, the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery, the Pushkin Museum, the Hermitage, and the Vatican Museums.

He has taught at the Urbaniana University in Rome, training religious superiors in artistic and cultural education for the clergy. He currently teaches Philosophy, Theology, and the History of Art Ideas in the United States, Latin America, and Italy, and serves as full professor of Aesthetics at the IEX Institute, a Hispanic-American affiliate of the University of Nueva Espana (Florida, USA). He leads international courses, guides artistic circuits worldwide, and hosts the YouTube channel @Misi6n del Arte.
