Public Lecture | "DATA CORK: Designing the Hidden Patterns of Sustainability"

04

Dec

The Public Lecture “DATA CORK: Designing the Hidden Patterns of Sustainability”, organised by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities – Department of Architecture and Design, will take place on the 4th December in the Don Bosco Auditorium.

About the Talk:

“Data Cork” is an innovative sculpture and installation that transforms hidden data into a dynamic visual experience. This installation features modular cork structures, each representing different data points related to the cork’s sustainability and cork cellular properties. By sculpting with the data we typically overlook, this artwork reveals the often unseen complexity of the material. The modular design allows for various configurations, showcasing how abstract data can inform and inspire creative forms. “Data Cork” bridges the artistic expression of the cork cellular properties and data visualization, offering a unique perspective on how hidden information can shape our understanding of materials and sustainability. This immersive experience highlights the beauty and depth of cork, inviting viewers to explore and appreciate the intricate stories woven into its structure.
