MRI Online Workshop 2022 | Contemplation And Leadership

15

Mar

The Macau Ricci Institute is hosting the Online Workshop on “Contemplation & Leadership” in the Ignatian Year for March 2022, on the 15th of March.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

A new year is opening up which offers us a new opportunity to deepen our Contemplative journey, familiarize ourselves with the Psalms, and try to grasp some key insights of the Gospel of John. As we are halfway through the journey during the Ignatian Year we may also wish to make an evaluation about progress and setbacks during our itinerary in the different areas such as a faithful daily practice of Contemplation, regular Contemplative reading of the Psalms, and the Gospel of John, finally: insights on how Contemplation may inspire serving leadership.

Instruction for “Contemplation & Leadership” in the Ignatian Year for March 2022 (15 March 2022)

Psalm 112:

The Psalm 112 describes the firm confidence of being rooted and grounded in the trust in the Lord. It involves a liberation from any fears. This attitude gives raise to a profound happiness which leads to a special attention and generosity to the poor.

John 14:1-21:

John 14:1-21 echoes also the attitude of complete fearlessness due to a deep faith in God. Chapter 14 is also focused on the departure of Jesus who gradually reveals himself to his disciples who have difficulty to grasp the meaning of his words. Through faith those who are close to Jesus discover him as “Way, Truth and Life”. A key sentence in v. 13 refers to a key element of the Contemplative prayer: “Whatever you ask in my name I will grant you.” With this confidence in invoking his name we trust that the Lord of peace will restore peace in the war-torn countries of the world and those regions which suffer bitterly from the consequences of devastating war.
