USJ welcomed a delegation from CHRIST for a meeting focused on enhancing institutional collaboration and future academic partnerships.

Following a series of recent engagements between the two institutions including a visit by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalisation of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Professor Álvaro Barbosa, to CHRIST (Deemed to be University), India in January 2026, and a subsequent visit by the CHRIST delegation to USJ in February 2026, reflecting a growing academic relationship and a shared interest in strengthening international cooperation, USJ welcomed a delegation from CHRIST on 24 April 2026 for a meeting focused on enhancing institutional collaboration and future academic partnerships between the two universities.

The CHRIST delegation was led by Fr. Lijo Thomas, Director of the Pune Lavasa Campus, together with Dr David Joseph, Coordinator of the Department of Commerce. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Professor Alexandre Lobo, Vice-Rector for Academic Research and Innovation at USJ, alongside Prof. Alessandro Lampo, Head of the Department of Business Studies of the Faculty of Business and Law, Prof. Miranda Mak, Director of the Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education of the School of Education and Prof. Leanda Care, Head of the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

During the meeting, both institutions discussed potential areas of collaboration, particularly in Business and Law, Education, and Data Science. The discussion also explored opportunities for co-teaching initiatives, co-authored academic publications, short-term cultural exchange programmes, and co-supervision of PhD candidates.

The meeting concluded with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to further developing academic and research partnerships, promoting intercultural dialogue, and expanding internationalisation opportunities for students and faculty members.
