On 10 October, a delegation from the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited the Faculty of Religious Studies and Philosophy (FRSP) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the Saint Joseph Seminary.
The CUHK delegation, led by Assistant Professor Christina Wong and accompanied by USJ/FRSP alumnus Rev. Dr. Jackson Tsui, comprised CUHK students from the “Macau’s Christian History” class. As their course focuses on seminary education, spiritual formation and the history of religious institutions, the visit to Saint Joseph Seminary, with its profound heritage and remarkable contributions to theological education in South-East Asia, was invaluable for the students.

FRSP Associate Professor Franz Gassner and Assistant Professor Andrew Leong welcomed the CUHK delegation on behalf of the FRSP Dean, Rev. Dr Cyril Law. They gave an overview of how the FRSP at USJ continues the legacy of education and formation in philosophy, Catholic theology and religious studies.

Our alumnus and subject librarian, Mr Antonio Wong, gave a presentation to the Hong Kong students and professors about the USJ Seminary Library. The visit and Q&A session were very beneficial for both parties in terms of achieving a deeper understanding of academic and spiritual formation in the region.
