On July 10, 2025, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao warmly welcomed a delegation from Southville International School and Colleges (SISC) at USJ Ilha Verde Campus. Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice-Rector for Student Life at USJ, extended a heartfelt welcome to the SISC representatives.

Dr. Loong’s remarks highlighted the significant partnership between SISC and USJ, its shared commitment to academic excellence, cultural exchange, and holistic education. Dr. Loong emphasized the vibrant and diverse community at USJ, the vital role of Filipino students, and the common values that guide both institutions, such as social responsibility and global perspectives.

The meeting resulted in the development of several constructive strategic action plans aimed at potential initiatives and collaborative efforts in areas including Business, Psychology, Education, and Communication. These plans resonate with discussions from previous remote meetings in February 2025 and encompass various actions, such as student competitions, mobility programs, internship opportunities, and cultural immersion experiences. This visit marks a pivotal moment in strengthening collaboration and exploring new avenues for transformative impact within the communities.

Both institutions shared a strong aspiration, having initially entered into a cooperation agreement in May 2024 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Daegu, Korea, during the “17th AUAP Learning and Sharing Forum on Health” and the “9th Allied Health Sciences Symposium.”

The SISC delegation included Dr. Jocelyn P. Tizon, President; Mr. Rex Wallen Tan, Chief Technology Officer/Chief Finance Officer; Dr. Marie Astrid Bernadette De Leon, College Director; Mrs. Jorge Balela, Student Support and Admin Services Manager; Dr. Aris Ignacio, Dean of the College of Computing, Engineering, and Communication Media; Ms. Junessa Lumbres, Deputy Principal; and Mr. Jonathan Borja, SISFU Program Chair. From USJ Macao, attendees included Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice-Rector for Student Life; Prof. Jacky Ho, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences; Prof. João Brochado, Head of the Department of Media, Art, and Technology; Prof. Miranda Mak, Coordinator of the Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education; and Mrs. Ana Paula Mota, Head of the International Affairs Office.
