The Department of Media, Art and Technology of Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), University of Saint Joseph (USJ) holds its 2022-2023 Graduation Projects Exhibition of Bachelor of Communication and Media on 11th of May. Under the supervision of Prof. Carlos Sena Caires, Dean of the FAH, Prof. Jose Manual Simoes, Head of the Department, and Prof. Joao Brochado, Supervisor of Communication and Media Graduation Projects, a total of 11 projects are showcase with different forms of demonstration.

The theme of this year is “Shadow”, which refers both to a literal absence of light and to a metaphorical representation of hidden or repressed aspects of oneself or society. The graduating students explored this topic and present different approaches using a diverse range of media, including photography, film and media installations. Each uniquely investigating the interplay of light and darkness, hidden truths, and the obscured aspects of our existence. These projects aim to challenge ourselves to confront our own “shadows” and to consider the ways in which our collective “shadows” impact the world we live in today.

We invite everyone to join our students on this journey of self-discovery and societal reflection, as these emerging talents cast new light on the enigmatic shadows that surround us. The Exhibition will be open to public until June 8th in USJ Kent Wong Gallery B1.
