USJ held the USJ International Cultural Fair 2023 on April 22, 2023
On Saturday, 22 April 2023, the University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ) held the USJ International Cultural Fair 2023 at the Ilha Verde Campus. This cultural event was organised by the Office for Student and Alumni Affairs (OSAA), with sponsorship from the Macao Foundation.
This celebratory event was presided by the Rector of USJ, Rev’d Professor Stephen Morgan, and counted the presence of around 300 participants, including USJ staff, students, and the local community.
The USJ International Cultural Fair was first launched in 2010 and it aims to celebrate different cultures in the USJ community and encourage the participants to appreciate, respect, and value the differences of individuals and the beauty of cultural diversity.
During this event, participants learned about the different cultures present in the USJ community by tasting traditional food and enjoying folk dance and music performances by USJ students from China, Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Macao S.A.R., Myanmar, Philippines, São Tomé and Príncipe, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. Many participants also wore their traditional costumes.
USJ would like to thank everyone involved in making this event successful and memorable. The event genuinely demonstrated the unique features of internationalisation and multiculturalism of USJ.
