USJ Visits Guangdong University of Technology to Deepen Cooperation in Neuroscience and Joint Key Laboratory

The two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation in neuroscience education, research, and the establishment of a joint key laboratory.



On April 21, 2025 (Monday), a delegation from the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), led by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Alexandre Lobo, visited Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT). The two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on cooperation in neuroscience education, research, and the establishment of a joint key laboratory. The delegation included USJ’s doctoral student Mr. Qian Quan and Mr. Yang Chengdong, Head of the Institutional Development Office of USJ.

During the visit, the USJ delegation toured GDUT’s Advanced Vehicle Design and Manufacturing Laboratory, Human-Centered Technology Design Laboratory, and the Guangdong Industrial Design Exhibition Hall, expressing deep admiration for GDUT’s research capabilities and innovative achievements. A symposium followed, where Ms. Huang Rong, Director of  International Office of GDUT delivered a welcome address, and Mr. Luo Shengjing, Party Secretary of the college of Art and Design of GDUT, introduced the school’s overview. The discussions focused on collaboration in neuroscience and the joint key laboratory, covering topics such as sharing educational and research resources, joint research projects, and the feasibility of establishing a joint key laboratory.

This visit laid a foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two universities in neuroscience and the joint key laboratory. Both sides look forward to promoting research innovation and talent development through resource sharing and complementary strengths.
