The “15th National Games” 2025 Macao-wide English Speech Contest is a significant English speaking competition organized by the Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) to coincide with the 15th National Games jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. This contest, which is a key event in Macao’s education and cultural calendar, serves as the Macao regional round of the National “21st Century Cup” English Speaking Competition.
Participating in the University Category was Alidoro Cabongo da Silva Chenda from the University of Saint Joseph (Macao) who successfully maneuvered through the preliminary round and entered the final round where he achieved the 2nd runner-up trophy.
The contest began with a preliminary round held on October 11, 2025, at MPU’s Bell Centre of English, culminating in a final round on November 1, 2025, at the MPU Auditorium.
The “15th National Games” theme helped students connect the importance of sports to health, community, and patriotism, thereby enriching their understanding and appreciation of the National Games and its impact on Macao.
