The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) launched the first official gathering of the Mentorship Programme 25/26 in the evening of 29 November, 2025, marking a vibrant start to a new year of career guidance and community building. The event, held in the Student Lounge at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus, brought together 19 mentors and mentees for an evening of creativity and connection.
The event, sponsored by the Macao Foundation, commenced with a sharing session to mingle and converse. This relaxed start set a positive tone for the collaborative session that followed.
Led by Ms. Ivy Ieong, who also served as a mentor in the previous mentorship programme, the workshop provided a unique, hands-on platform for participants to collaborate on a shared “circle painting” artwork. This innovative approach served as a powerful tool to facilitate initial communication and establish rapport between mentors and their mentees. The session underscored the programme’s core objective of building strong, supportive relationships within the USJ community.
This inaugural university-wide gathering builds upon the foundation laid in October and November, during which all six mentorship groups had their first internal meet-ups.
The 2025/26 USJ Mentorship Programme continues its mission to foster valuable connections, provide personalised guidance, and create enriching opportunities for both professional career exploration and personal development. It embodies the university’s enduring commitment to nurturing a spirit of collaboration and holistic growth within its community.
