The University of Saint Joseph Macao signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia), on 1 March, 2024.



On 1st March, 2024, the University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ Macao) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia) with the aim of establishing understanding between USJ and IAAS MSU to develop educational, scientific, academic, cultural, and other types of collaboration in the field of Oriental Studies.

The MOU was signed remotely by the representatives of both institutions, USJ Macao Rector, Rev’d Professor Stephen Morgan, and by Director, Prof. Alexey Maslov, to build a strong cooperation in the areas of organizing academic and cultural exchange; developing and implementing joint research and analytical projects; designing, developing, and organizing an online course; and joint winter and summer school within areas of mutual interest; organizing  joint research events (e.g., conferences, seminars, workshop, etc.); and exchange of faculty member, research fellows and administrative staff to lecture, participation in symposia and conferences and other activities of interest to both Parties as appropriate. 

Institute of Asian and African Studies of the Federal State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Education M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russian Federation is a leading training center for orientalists in Russia. The Oriental Languages was reorganized into the Institute of Asian and African Studies in 1972 with the main purpose of a comprehensive study of the processes in Asian and African Countries.
