IDEAS/USJ receives visit from the Department of Physics from CityUHK for collaborations in Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Technologies.
The Institute of Data Engineering and Science (IDEAS) at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) welcomed Prof. Xin Sunny Wang from the City University of Hong Kong (CityU HK) on the 5th September. He was greeted by the Dean of IDEAS, Prof. George Du, and Assistant Professor Ivan Arraut, who facilitated the visit.
The primary focus of the visit was to explore potential collaborations in the fields of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Technologies. Discussions also centered on strategies to enhance the popularity of science education among high schools in Hong Kong, Macao, and mainland China.
Following this initial meeting, Prof. Ivan Arraut was invited to City University of Hong Kong on September 9, where discussions continued. During his visit, he had the opportunity to test a Virtual Reality (VR) prototype device designed to facilitate virtual experiments in Quantum Mechanics for educational purposes. The two institutions explored potential collaborations in this innovative direction as well.
