Join this Key Event in UN-Habitat’s World Urban Campaign Advancing Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Communities in the Greater Bay Area, from 14 – 15 November in the Don Bosco Auditorium!

The Urban Thinkers Campus 2025 Preparatory Event (UTC) is taking place from 14 to 15 November 2025 at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao. The event is organised by CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism (CURB), a proud member of UNHabitat’s World Urban Campaign, and sponsored by Macao Foundation.

The Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) is an initiative of UNHabitat’s World Urban Campaign, established in 2014 as an open platform for critical exchange among stakeholders and partners to promote sustainable urbanization. The UTC model plays a key role in translating global commitments into local action.

CURB has been an active participant in the World Urban Campaign and previously hosted UTC 3.0 Macau in 2018 under the theme “Density for the Common Good: Implementing the New Urban Agenda.”

This year’s edition, themed “The Greater Bay We Need: Towards ClimateResilient and Sustainable Communities”, will foster dialogue and collaboration to develop actionable strategies for sustainable urban development across the Greater Bay Area, aligning with UNHabitat’s vision for inclusive and climateresilient cities.

About the Event:

The twoday program will bring together a diverse range of stakeholders—including professionals, academics, policymakers, and community representatives—to exchange ideas and cocreate practical pathways toward sustainable urban futures. Discussions will be structured around four key topics:

  • Resilience: Urban Design, Waterfront and Climate Action
  • Diversity: Economy, Space and Entrepreneurialism
  • Communities: Identity, Sustainable and Inclusive
  • Quality of Life: Green, Smart and Livable

Programme Structure:

The event will feature a series of dynamic and participatory formats designed to generate actionable outcomes:

  • Urban Labs – Experts from diverse disciplines will present innovative and practical solutions addressing the four key topics. Each session will identify gaps and outline priority actions to bridge them.
  • Partner Groups – CURB’s growing network of collaborators will explore the themes in depth, leveraging regional partnerships to produce diverse, action-oriented discussions.
  • Roundtables – Participants from different backgrounds will come together to clarify operational actions, assign responsibilities, and establish implementation timelines.
  • Plenary Sessions – These sessions will consolidate insights and commitments, culminating in a shared roadmap reflecting the collective vision for a sustainable and resilient urban future.

The Urban Thinkers Campus is open to all, and we warmly invite USJ students, faculty members, and the wider community to take part in this important dialogue on the future of our cities and region!
