The fficial Opening Ceremony of the Robotic Lab and its Exhibition – “Applied Research in Architecture and Design” will take place on Wednesday, 25 March, at 17:30, at the Kent Wong Exhibition Hall B/1, Ilha Verde Campus, Macau.
The Department of Architecture and Design of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) announces the Official Opening Ceremony of the Robotic Lab and its Exhibition – “Applied Research in Architecture and Design” on Wednesday, 25 March, at 17:30, at the Kent Wong Exhibition Hall B/1, Ilha Verde Campus, Macau.
This world-class event marks the official inauguration of USJ’s Robotic Lab, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to research and teaching in robotic fabrication, computational design, and digital manufacturing. The lab strengthens USJ’s mission to foster innovation, applied research, and interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging digital design processes with realworld construction and material experimentation.
Following the inauguration, the exhibition Applied Research in Architecture and Design presents a curated selection of projects developed within the Robotic Lab and the Department of Architecture and Design. Highlights include Ladder Street Cultural Space, a full-scale temporary library fabricated at the lab, alongside robotic fabrication experiments, generative design research, and studies of Macau’s urban landscape, sound environments, and architectural heritage.
Together, the lab and exhibition exemplify USJ’s commitment to advancing architectural research, education, and community engagement. The exhibition will remain open to the public at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus during University opening hours.
Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites the entire community to visit the exhibition and participate in the opening session.
