Join the “DIGITAL MAPPING” Workshop on 8, 11 and 14 December, and explore the concept, creation and application of digital maps and mapping techniques in Macao. This training workshop is curated by CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Design of the University of Saint Joseph, and is sponsored by the Macao Foundation.

About the Workshop

“Digital Mapping Methodology and Application in Macau” is a training program to disseminate and popularise the concept, creation and application of digital maps and mapping techniques for the general public. Map and mapping are effective ways to communicate topics related to space, and the use and importance of digital mapping have been increased with the advance of smart-city approaches and is essential for the understanding and uses of Geographic Information System (GIS). In the context of Macau, due to the city’s density and ever-changing landscape, digital mapping is an effective way to analyse and present complex information about the city. The ability to store, analyse and present spatial data is particularly useful for the formulation of urban policies, socio-economic planning and social studies.
