To commemorate the 450th anniversary of the founding of the Diocese of Macau, the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission, in collaboration with USJ Macao, will host the “Academic Conference for Leaders in Catholic Education” on 15 May and the “Roundtable Discussion for Hong Kong-Macau Catholic School Leaders” on 16 May, under the unifying theme “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow of Catholic Education”.

To commemorate the 450th anniversary of the founding of the Diocese of Macau, the Diocesan Catholic Education Commission, in collaboration with the University of Saint Joseph, will host the “Academic Conference for Leaders in Catholic Education” on 15 May 2026 (Friday) and the “Roundtable Discussion for Hong Kong-Macau Catholic School Leaders” on 16 May 2026 (Saturday), under the unifying theme “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow of Catholic Education”. These two events aim to promote scholarly exchange between Macau and other regions on academic and Catholic education topics, while collectively exploring the educational mission in historical journey, continuity, and innovative developments.

The Academic Conference on the opening day (15 May) will feature the sharing by Catholic education scholars from Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China, focusing on four academic themes within the field of Catholic education. On the following day (16 May), the Roundtable Discussion will centre on the practical insights and campus management of Catholic schools in Hong Kong and Macau, as well as exemplary initiatives for advancing religious education in non-tertiary sectors. This platform seeks to foster meaningful interaction and collaboration within the Hong Kong-Macau education community.
