USJ Macao hosted a special session with guest speaker Dr. Chui Sai Peng, focused on understanding the spirit and key outcomes of the fourth sessions of the 14th NPC and the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC, often referred to as the “Two Sessions”.



The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao hosted a special session focused on understanding the spirit and key outcomes of the recent fourth sessions of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) and the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), often referred to as the “Two Sessions”. The event took place on 30 April 2026 at the Fátima Auditorium in the USJ Ilha Verde Campus.

The session aimed to clarify the significance and implications of the “Two Sessions”, highlighting the latest developments in the educational, economical and social landscape of China. Attendees included students, faculty, and administrative staff, all gaining a deeper understanding of these important national events.

Keynote speaker Dr. Chui Sai Peng Jose, a member of the NPC and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macao, delivered the Two Sessions sharing seminar entirely in English for the first time. Dr Chui highlighted key focus areas particularly relevant to the advancements in economic development.

About Dr. Chui Sai Peng, Jose:

Dr. Jose Chui Sai Peng has extensive professional experience in urban planning, civil and structural engineering and project management.  He was responsible for many studies and projects in Macau, including the “21st Century Macau City Planning Guideline Study”, “Creative Industries District Conceptual Study” etc.

Dr. Chui is the President of CAA City Planning and Engineering Consultants Ltd., Macau, the President of Da Chang (Zhuhai) Concrete Pile Co., Ltd.  He also holds various public service positions, including the Macau Deputy the 14th National People’s Congress, member of the National Committee of China Association for Science and Technology, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Macau SAR, member of the Council for Architecture, Engineering and Urban Planning of the Macau SAR, Chairman of Macau Urban Planning Institute, Chairman of The Association for Promotion of Science and Technology of Macau etc. In recognition of Dr. Chui’s contribution, he was awarded the Professional Medal of Merit by the Macau Government in 1999 and the Macau SAR in 2004. Besides, Dr. Chui was awarded The 2nd National Innovation Forefront Award in 2020.
