USJ Macao and URJC signed a Mou to establishing a partnership to promote academic exchange and institutional collaboration and strengthen ties between Macao and Spain in the field of higher education.
On 18 March, the Acting Rector of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Dr. Alejandro Salcedo Garcia, and Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs at USJ, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, visited the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) in Spain.
The USJ delegation was warmly welcomed by Rector of URJC, Abraham Duarte Muñoz. and Vice-Rector for International Relations of URJC, Professor Ana Felicitas Muñoz Pérez, along with representatives from the university’s international office, including Mr Pablo Salvadores, Director of Internationalisation.
This visit forms part of USJ’s ongoing efforts to expand international cooperation and provided a valuable platform for both institutions to exchange perspectives on academic development, internationalisation strategies, and potential areas of collaboration. Discussions highlighted the shared commitment of USJ and URJC to advancing global engagement.
In November 2025, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of URJC visited USJ, followed by a visit from the Director of Internationalisation in February 2026. Across these exchanges, both institutions identified projects and areas of cooperation aligned with mutual interests, paving the way for future deployment.
Notably, the key milestone of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between USJ and URJC, formally establishing a partnership to promote academic exchange and institutional collaboration and strengthen ties between Macao and Spain in the field of higher education.
The visit concluded with a campus tour and further discussions on future initiatives, reinforcing the foundation for a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership.
