ARRANGEMENTS AND MEASURES FOR OVERSEAS STUDENTS RETURNING TO MACAO WHEN THE NEW SEMESTER BEGINS

We are focused on the ways that we can provide for the safe return of the members of our community and how we can work to sustain their safety over the course of their time at the University of Saint Joseph – in our residence halls, classrooms, and gathering places across our campuses, given the risks posed by COVID-19.

The University will:

  • Publicly affirm their commitment to its international students;
  • Expand networks of social support for international students;
  • Establish processes to make one-on-one student advising – academic as well as visa status-related so that they can make informed decisions about their course of study, relocation and other relevant issues;
  • Be proactive in explaining what the new regulations will mean and how they will be affected so they can make decisions accordingly;
  • Create new internships and grant opportunities on campuses specifically aimed at international students;
  • Conduct face-to-face classes with real-time broadcasting for those classes with students who are staying overseas and cannot come back to Macao.
  • Work closely with our overseas students, faculty and staff to consider and address particular challenges they may anticipate with a return to campus;
  • Post and keep updated information on our website regarding governments regulations and guidelines for overseas travellers;

Overseas faculty members and students responsibilities

As we look forward to the 2021-2022 Academic Year at our University, we anticipate that COVID-19 will continue to circulate. This will bring about unprecedented changes and will pose uncertain challenges to our overseas faculty members and students, such as entry restrictions for overseas travellers, quarantine or self-isolation, etc.
